Moral of the story, don't trade in your fish if:
Your LFS doesn't properly care for their fish. they won't take good care of yours either.
You don't want your LFS to profit from the sale of your fish. It's business and that's how it works.
You care how much your LFS tries to mark up your fish. Once you trade it in it's theirs and the price they try to sell it for has nothing to do with you.
You care about getting a "fair" amount of store credit or value in trade. It's fair because you accepted the trade. If you want near retail value you'll have to sell it yourself.
