in this hobby there is really no need to feed live. there are plenty of other sources. not only is it harmful for the fish to be gouged at by mice claws, but the mice may have some kind of funky disease also.

ok... Mice can and are occationaly caught by catfish. There is NO i repeat NO problem with this in MODERATION. Let me repeat that MODERATION. this is part of thier natural diet. Infact the catfish in my grandfathers pond injoy mice and often eat his ducklings. Yes they eat his ducklings and they are macovey ducks. look em up and u will see these ducks are large. Now there is no real need for this but it is possible.

I think a mouse is fine as a rare treat for a 2 foot RTC. I wouldn't worry about the mouse damaging the fish either. A 2 foot RTC would be able to eat mice like popcorn. A rat would be a different story. I am fine with people who feed live for food and not for a fight. I don't feed any live...It's not my thing. This situation isn't anything to get bent out of shape about, though.
