ive never done online and probably never will because i need to see the fish and pick out the exact one i want, which i can be really picky about. when i decide to get a new oscar for example it might take 6 months and 2 dozen trips to the local stores until i see one i really like

I’ve done both and had great success with online orders. For whatever reason in my region suburban Philadelphia good shops are few and far and don’t necessarily carry what I’m always looking for livestock wise. I was hesitant my first time buying off aquabid for a flowerhorn from a private seller but it was incredibly easy and good experience. Managed a great high quality fish for an awesome price.

livestock comes from online 95% of the time (cota or jeff). Lfs or supermarket for drygoods and chemicals. As far as filters and stuff, most the time craigslist.

I buy the plants from other fish peoples online .
Then I buy brand new equipment online. I buy the used stuff from Craigslist.
I buy my driftwood online from other fish people from various forums and Craigslist and e-bay.
I buy fish locally but if they are rare, then I'd have to buy online or travel further or reach out to other fish people online who has them.

Honestly i wish i still lived in delco instead of central VA. Plenty of cool shops up that way. Aquarium world over in aston and greenbank aquatics down in wilmington in particular.

Coming from Norristown making it down 476 is always a nightmare with traffic. Although I think I’m stopping at Aquarium World tomorrow.

Is that the shop that is in Boothwyn?

Close to that, more like aston/chichester.

I stopped by a few weeks ago and was really impressed with his stock and how well he takes care of his tanks. Runs everything really low tech and old school too.
.....sounds like my kind of place.I may take a ride on down there tomorrow for a look around.
