So my 10 inch Texas Hybrid passed last night after getting sick a couple of weeks ago. He was our only fish in our 125 and about 4 years old, he'll be missed a lot. Now I need help with stocking as my tank is already cycled and want to take advantage of that window. I think I'm tired of the super aggressive cichlids but would like to stay with a cichlid tank (not African though). Here's my list of possibles so far: red severum, salvinis, fire mouth, geo's. Is it true that these fish are pretty mild cichlids? Also, can I get away with 3-5 clown loaches and a few of the above cichlids? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Heres a picture of "Tex", RIP!

Of all mentioned, i would only do Salvini....sorry.

But none mentioned is a wet pet.

Why don't you get a midas or another solo monster?:)

Geos are VERY peaceful. you could mix a red sev in with most kinds of Geos. clown loaches eventually get very large.

Maybe I mis spoke (wrote). I don't want another wet pet I would like multiple medium-large cichlids that won't try to kill each other all day which was the case with my last fish and anything I tried to put in with him. So I was wondering if the above mentioned fish would work well together and if they could go with clown loaches? Or whatever anyone thinks would work but I would like multiple cichlids. Thanks!

yes.. geos are peaceful and would make a nice community... sevs might mix well (1-2)...:popcorn:cory's or other small cats or loaches would most likely be fine... you could mix in large tetras or giant danios as well ... another option ... community of sm. - med. ca cichlids,,, firemouth ... cons ... sajica... jd... cutteri .. rainbow cichlids...ect.

I think clown loaches can mix with the other fish. but you need to research their eventual size, I would like to have some myself, but don't because of that. They are also susceptible to ich. Most loach keepers don't care about that & members here know how to treat successfully if it happens.

What a nice avatar, Barbara. Is that you :)

Sorry for the derail..
