  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sorry to hear.

personally in a 125 i would go for some fish from the geophagus species, my favourites will either be the 'red head tapajos' or the 'rio pindare'. they are very underrated and can be kept with some smaller corys and other mildly placid centeral/south americans.

dont be affraid to try somthing new. i am going back to geophagus soon, they are beautiful!

I wouldn't worry about the size of the clown loaches. They're some of the slowest growing fish out there, and if you get them pretty small it'd take like a decade for them to outgrow your tank.

+1 to geophagus, and I think firemouths can be kind of aggressive? Never kept them but I was under the impression they can be mean for their size.

So is it best to get the fish in pairs: 2 red severum, 2 jewel cichlids, 2 fire mouth or just get 4-5 single cichlids? My trusted LFS has all of these as small juveniles so I'm not worried about overcrowding right now but I realize if they all live to adulthood, I will have to find some a new home. Also, thinking about skunk loaches instead of clowns since they are a bit meaner and only grow to 4 inches. Thanks!

Just as an example I have a 120 with a male red spot sev, a male rotkiel sev, a chocolate, and a threadfin acara, 2 SAEs, 8 congo tetras, a senegal bicher and a bristlenose pleco. I really like my tank, peaceful and active. Before the chocolate, I had a satanoperca, but he was getting too harassed by the rotkiel.

So through my search I'm very interested in the Chocolate Cichlid. Anyone out there have experience with this fish and is it as laid back as they say it is?

I would say mellow, they defend themselves but don't start trouble.my male used to break up fights between sevs. Now I have thuploadfromtaptalk1361076786536.jpguploadfromtaptalk1361076830589.jpgem again, 5 growing out with 2 brasilensis, 2 helecki
