Looking for something to put in my 29gal. have never kept geckos but have always been interested in them. i would like something more active and that could stay in a 29 for life or at least for quite awhile meaning a year or two. any suggestions want something that stays smaller i have owned big snakes and would much rather not have another big snake but wouldnt mind a smaller snake. Have had chameleons and enjoyed them but looking for a little more action whether it be at night or during the day. dont mind feeding mice or anything like that. no spiders or scorpions have had too many of those.

anyone? maybe a pair of leopard geckos??

have had ball pythons looking for something different

how about a rat snake or corn snake. you could utilize the height of the tank with branches since they are good climbers.

29 gallon would be cool for a pair or trio for some larger treefrogs like whites tree frogs or white lips. probably not active enough for you though

what about a tank with a half dozen or so anoles? very active during the day, like to bask. fun to watch eat when you drop crickets in. i fed mine spiders, centipedes, moths, and flies too.

could do an aquatic set up maybe. i think the mush turtles will stay small enough for a set up in a 29 for life.

hmm i'll let you know if i have any other ideas

A pair of leopard geckos would work out just fine in that size tank. So would most other small species of ground gecko. You could keep a pair of anoles in there, no more then that. You'd be surprised how much space you should really give them. A trio of house geckos could work too. That tank is a bit too small for any species of turtle for life.

if you get a common mud turtle, you are looking at a 3-4.5 inch turtle as an adult. common musk turtle, stays under 5 inches also

prolly not the most active but what about pacman frogs?? not a big fan of anoles if i did a lizard would want a little bigger. and turtles would be cool too will have to look into some have red ear sliders as a kid.

and they 29 not necessarily for life i guess just limited on space right now but willing to expand in a year or two. but still dont want anything that gets huge

red ear sliders will out grow a 29 no doubt.......ive seen them with over a 12 inch shell length
