i think learning the hard way is the best way to appreciate yourself and how far you have come.... and it gives you strength.... and wisdom along the way.. you have every right to feel proud of yourself...

definitely agree with this. we never had a lot of money growing up and were quite poor but i know the large amount of money i make now means i am fortunate to have what i have and although i enjoy the better things in life now, i havent forgotten where i came from. even if i earn large sums when im a civilian i will still make my kids work hard for their pocket money like i did.
my cousin on the other hand had a loaded upbringing and runs to mummy and daddy when life gets hard and he just doesnt have a clue as to the value of money and because he has been sheltered from the hardships he doesnt know how to be humble with what he has.

For those that believe it is so fair PLEASE explain loved ones being delt death in a slow suffering manner. Did we do something to deserve that? That's "fair"?

For the atheist: we have not evolved better than the diseases and viruses that plague us. In evolution, suffering is an irrelevant end to a meaningless existence. Plus, there is only a chance that you will suffer and "chance" is the god of fairness and impartiality.

For the Christian: blame Adam and Eve ;). Can you tell how much your friends love you by how they treat you when things are great? No! You find out who your friends are by the ones who stick with you in the bad times. By slowly suffering to death God gets to see if you loved the things you were blessed with or if you loved God (Job, in the old testament, lost his kids, wife, wealth, and health but he held onto his faith).

Nothing in life is fair, that is not to say it is always bad..just sometimes not fair, what is good for you will NOT be good for someone, what is good for someone else will NOT be good for you. If you do something good, doesn't mean something good will happen for you, if you don't do something good...it still may not be good for you but may be good for another. Life isnt' meant to be fair, just the way it is...accept it and love your life anyway ;)

life is VERY FAIR IMO.
its just the way i see it.
like this:
whenever something bad happens to you, something good happens.
when something VERY good happens, something VERY bad happens soon after.
this is the way its been for me since i can remember....
hence,life is fair....it goes up,and goes down.
