Life of having a pleco

When I finally get a pleco tank going, no doubt it'll be bare bottom...I vacuum a lot of pleco poop each day.

I definitely don't have him for an algae control. I have always loved them and find them to be cute. I have him and then a rubber lip pleco, who does not poop as much as this one does, but there's a big size difference right now. He actually chases my Africans around the tank, which I have never seen a pleco do before.

I had to just take out all the fake plants and wash them becuase there was strands stuck all in them. I mean it's not too bad to just take the vac and clean it up real fast because it just sits on top but if I don't do that every day or every other day it looks so gross in there but it's the color of the gravel that makes it so obvious.

Same here. Using them for algae control is kind of worthless considering their bio load. I have sand in all my tanks except for my quarantine...Which I'm about to take the rocks out of. LOL

He has moved from the front of the glass to chasing all the fish around the tank so it's just all wrapped around the pots and everything. haha. He will be going into my 55 with my oscar in a few days and thankfully there is less for him to get everything tangled on and river rock, so it won't show up so bad

Well it was an albino red zebra cichlid (Maylandia estherae) and has slowly developed that peachy color in the 2 months I've had him. So he's a weird albino, that's not really an albino.

He constantly stalks the front of the tank wanting to be fed, all of my Africans are pigs and are always begging, as much, if not worse than my oscar.
