I was wondering what the longest know life of a captive fish was? I have had several cichlids live past 12 years and right now have a clown loach that just past 16. Whats the longest anyone has had a fish?

Arowanas can live past 30+ years but i've never seen one that old.

Certian Piranhas can live up to 25+years, But i had a frog that lived for 22 years:rip

It was posted here awhile back...The goldfish lived for either 44 or 64 years, forgot which one...It's sort of skeptical because the picture shows a goldfish at only 8 inches long, something like that...

Oldest fish would be hard to know due to the fact that the ones in the wild can only be guessed. I would say of those commonly kept in ponds and aquariums it would go to the koi.

What I had more in mind was what you have actually kept yourself. I have seen some really astounding claims, but I was more interested in peoples actual experiences.

Well, I've kept koi several times in the past. Problem isn't keeping them, its the fact that they outlive us.
