Lighting for 48x24x24 Low Tech (medium/low light plants)

So what's the status update on these? I still haven't decided on anything yet. But I do know I am not going to be doing anything that demands a ton of light.

so i just got my sb reef lights in for my 120. mock setup about 4" from the top of the tank, and it looks good. it will be better once i mount it properly, but the 6-8" from the lid seems perfect.

Are the dark areas because the light is blocked by those blocks the lights are sitting on? Because honestly...the light throw on that tank looks pretty bad. I've been looking at this light as well...a single 16" for a 24" x 18" tank and I have my reservations about whether I'll get complete coverage and it's important for me because I'm going heavy plants with CO2.
