the only thing is the ballast Dr foster and smith don't say if it is electronic or magnetic the magnetic ones don't work the only danger i have ever known with them is they get a little hot i wouldn't touch em but other than that there pretty good why would you go with what Dr foster and smith have over the ones on the site the ones at the site can be bought for 4 to 8 bucks at home depot

I just don't like the look of the shop light lol. I suppose my best bet would be to just experiment with some different t5 bulbs, I might try ordering some online, anyone have any suggestions?

how much are you looking to spend? i have teks which were also but have been running into alot of problems at once. for the price i payed it should work perfect but it doesnt

ONLY BUY CORALIFE AQUALIGHT QUAD BULB 48". ONLY THINK ITS OVER YOUR $200 BUDGET. I HAVE A 72" VERSION AND ITS THE BEST.

you could always build a box to house the shop lights outa wood that way you could have just about any design you want without the look of the shop lights building canopies is fairly simple just think about it get two of those planter boxes that are black and made of plastic that that hang on porch rails and what not if they don't make em long enough buy two cut the ends off glue em together to the correct size small nuts and bolts hold the shop light to your new make shift hood and there you go a hood for 8 to 12 bucks before lights

edit yea I'm broke so i tend to find cheap ways of doing everything

Wouldnt that be a little overkill? Thats 3.46 watts per gallon
