I plan on setting up a 75 gallon high tech planted tank in the near future. I need suggestions for lighting. I was going to look into twinstar but the biggest model they have is 90 cm as far as I know and that’s not long enough for a 75 gallon. I was thinking maybe 2 fluval 3.0’s. I’m open to suggestions and advice of any kind.

Many to choose from. I use a Finnex Ray2 on my 75 gallon aquarium...works great. Not programmable but if you're interested in that feature, the Finnex 24/7 has it.

Would a single light work fine or would I have to get two in order to have a high tech tank?

Just got the 3.0 5 days ago for my 80g plants planted tank. Plants reacting already have the old 2.0 too but turned down . As it's a deep tank. 3.0 is a super piece of kit . Love the sunrise and sunset effect all from your phone no need for any timers .

Does the single light work fine on such a large tank? Might I ask, are you running co2 on your aquarium?

I didn't want to take the chance I just had the light on my A.C. tank before I changed it. I'd say one would be fine the structure of my tank needs 2 as 1 casts a shadow. And yeah man I'm using c02 but I'm in the early stages of the tank.

20180818_221048.jpg The Finnex Ray2 I use is a slim light bar with 2 strips of LEDs and it's more than enough. I do inject co2 with the use of a diy co2 reactor. I used to use a diffuser but imo, it's not as efficient.

Tank has been neglected but coming back. Didn't do WC or fertilized for 2 months due to personal issues...moss nearly all died off, stem plants, tiger lotus and anubias nearly died but with some attention, they're coming back to life.

I read somewhere that you want the wattage of your light to be 1.75 times the gallonage of your tank. Is that accurate? Also your tank is stunning. What’s a diy co2 reactor?

Required wattage per gallon?...maybe. The plants tell me what they need. Lighting is important and so are fertilizers.

Do It Yourself (diy)...in place of a co2 diffuser, which releases co2 directly into the aquarium, a co2 reactor dissolves co2 into the water with the use of a canister filter or pump.
