View attachment 1256846 View attachment 1256845 My Tank is built halfway into a nook, but here's one & another of the middle ,you can see the light easly reaches both sides of the 24" wide tank.

Thats not bad with how far the light spreads on it.

Have you considered shop lights? I came across Simkar Reflect-A-Bay lights and had to have them for over my tank, in my equipment and utility rooms and in the garage. They are used in warehouses, etc., and are very bright. They come in 4 and 6 bulb configurations T5 and T8. They now have a Reflect-A-Bay LED light which was not available when I got my lights.

Mine are amounted two feet above the tank. Because they are so close to the top of the tank, I got the plastic cover to protect from splashes. We wired the lights on two switches so we can have two, three or all five lights on. In this picture, I had removed the plastic protector that was on the cover off only the first light.

My tank is 4' high and 4' wide. When I saw this light in a plumbing/electrical supply store, I had to have it. It stood out from all the other shop lights that were on display and were also on. Don't know how the price compares with other lights. I paid about $160 each for them, not including the bulbs. I never considered any other light. My backgrounds are not finished yet, so the tank is not set up and running. I went with 4100 K bulbs. Plenty of light for me.

I did consider using them but dont think I really have the space height wise to use them correctly. They are always a fall back option since they are always readily available.

But I have been dying to see that tank of yours completed! Your pacu are really going to love that

The reason I went with 4 is I tried the high tech approach at one time and couldn't get it to really Work for me. So I went back low tech and never removed the other 2 fixtures. Liked the look with them on it.

Its a sharp looking tank thats for sure. I think I will be able to get away with just two side by side for now and maybe in the future add an additional 2

Yes but shipping across the border isn't always the easiest and adds up the cost. The positive is it's priced in CDN$

Whoops didn't know you were north of the border!

The beamswork light I got is not the brightest they offer either. I didn't want to have too much light in the Tank.
Which one did you go with specifically? I'm trying to pick which one to get for my 220 and don't want to end up with too much light for my fish.

This is the one I got.

Beamswork EA 180 Timer 0.50W 72" LED Aquarium Light White Blue
Thanks. That exact model isn't available on Amazon for purchase anymore but I was able to use the stats from it to make an educated choice on a similar model. I'll post some pics when it comes in and I get it set up, but I couldn't beat a 72" led bar for only $65.
