Do you have any light demanding species near or on the bottom of your tank?

What do you all think of this fixture, I would probably upgrade from the 5500k to 14000k bulb. According to this site a 175 W is ideal for a 24" deep tank.

Yea, it will be okay depth wise, but you better hope that your tank isnt much longer than the fixture...most likely the same size.

recieved the hamilton lighting fixture today. not sure if want to use it even though the reflector is much better. i really like the actinics. i could get a cheap actinic light to go with it.

I measured in my canopy before considering that retro kit. My canopy is just a smidgen over 37" inside so the fixture will be exactly the same length as my tank and mount in my canopy without issue.
