I have a 37 gallon freshwater tank
1x Oscar
1x Pleco
right now i have a 6500k Day White Fluorescent Tube, but i also have a 10000k Actinic Blue Coralife bulb

What would be better? Would the 10000k enhance bacterial growth?

get the 18,000K power glo. youll love the color

uhhh better for what? what do you mean, enhance bacterial growth?

beneficial bacteria? like the stuff that grows in your filters to keep your ammonia/nitrites in check? if so, then they wont be exposed to the light anyways. these colonies of bacteria are housed in your filters.

if a freshwater tank with no plants, it really doesnt matter what spectrum of light you have. it all comes down the personal preference on the color of your light. you could have yellow, red, blue, purple, pink, whatever. it will make no difference on your tank

well cycling my tank seems to be the problem im having, im just trying to figure out what to do, its taking forever(Over 2 months now, still no nitrite or nitrate just ammonia) =( Either that or i suck at this. Im at digging to last resorts now, thanks for answering my questions

2 month of cycling should be ok plus oscars and plecos are tough fish what kind of filters are you using?go with flour cus 18k blue doesnt enhance the oscars colors at all unless hes a albino tiger.

I have an AC 110 and an AC 50
2 months of cycling is okay? No nitrite or nitrate yet? In 2 months?

i have 10000k blue and he is albino will it enhance his colors

my tank took about 6 weeks to fully cycle. what are your ammonia levels at? it could be that your ammonia levels took a long time to spike...
