Lighting?

For the record, the black gravel makes the items in the tank "pop" pretty well. I thought about this for a long time before deciding on a black on black scape. I'm satisfied with the outcome but again (And the point of starting the thread), I'm willing to try different lighting.
Glancing at my Chocolates, they have a nice red color and my Aquidens Mertae are sparkling nicely; orange fin tips look nice too. The blue flecks in my Geo look quite vivid as well.

Some of you know way too much about light! My limited knowledge is: "Don't look at the sun".

Phillips full spectrum natural daylight t-5 32 watt tube is the best u can get 1 at home depot 8.99$. When u get there do not be fooled into getting the phillips aquarium and plant tube it sucks and u will be sad.

ditto on that.daylight good,plant and aquarium bad (yellow/brown)

also phillips makes another bulb called artificial sunlight usually at walmart....I got some because when I wanted them home depot and lowes were closed.

thought that was humorous afterwards, artificial sunlight and natural daylight....

I use a single 250 watt Metalhalide over my 600. Its a cheap bulb from Home depot but I plan on upgrading to a higher color temp bulb soon. I don't really like the effect of flourcent in my tank as I have several fake rocks glued around and a pangea background. I need the single point source lighting for the shadows. Gives a great and very natural effect. Also it gives me a lot of glitter lines that make it look like natural sunlight.
