I get the concept of it, but where did you earn it back so quickly? A metal dealer?

Michael confused. Michael smash!

Very simple. You just cut and paste the words from a Coin investment site;)

All dimes and quarters pre-'65 are 90% silver. Some nickles and other coins have silver as well. It will benefit you to always look at your pocket change, especially with todays silver prices.

Currently a pre-'65 quarter has about $3.98 worth of silver in it.

That's what I always figured. I knew the new coins weren't silver anymore. I have a few '64 quarters. I haven't seen one in circulation for years though. They get snatched up pretty quick. I'd end up going to the bank, leaving with a bunch of coins, then wondering wtf am I gonna now with all the ones that aren't silver

Imagine the look on the bank tellers' faces. "You're bringing it back?"

Thats the beauty of it, just redeposit the non-silver coins into your account. I just ordered $500 worth of coins, after I sort them I will deposit the rest in my count. Say I find just 1 silver quarter out of $500 worth, I got $4 in silver for just 25 cents! Today I was lucky though, To find about $7 in silver out of just 21 dollars in change is pretty good. If anything its a fun and exciting way to kill time.

I stick the silver in my safe though for my 3 year old when she goes to buy a home. Every time her piggy bank gets full I cash it in and buy precious metals as precious metals are a good way to curb inflation. We all know that pocket change saved up today isnt going to have the same buying power in 20+ years!

Yeah, that's a good point. It's not like you're losing any money. But do you have to re-roll up the coins in order to deposit them? Seems like it'd be a PIA! :)
