Picked up around a 4 inch lima the other day and I havnt seen him eat at all, I feed mostly sinking shrimp pellets and frozen bloodworms, the guy at the pet store said they eat anything they can get their mouth around, all he does is chill on a log and that's what he did for about 3 months at the store until I bought him, I can get ghost shrimp this weekend so maybe that would be better?

Give the lima more time to settle into its new environment.should be good once the cat is well acquainted with tankmates

Very hard for anyfish to resist live foods imo.if cat still won't eat then check on health condition, water stabilty, and if any other fish is alpha checking the newb cat

Maybe I got lucky but my lima ate the next day... frozen blood worms. The other thing is that he might have parasites/worms if he sat for 3 months and didn't grow

I've had mine for almost a year now and the only thing I could get him to eat in the beginning was live earthworms frozen silversides and bloodworms. He still favors a few foods, but now he has a taste for freshly thawed tilapia and baked fish. Yes, I give him trout after I cook it in foil, obviously no seasonings or marinades :D The reason I cook it is because it's wild-caught and I don't have a freezer that gets it cold enough to ensure there's no parasites.

I have a TSN that ate less than 2 hours it in my tank, I bought it around 3 inches and now it's around 7+ inches in less than 3 months. I feed its with tiapila fillet cut into its bite size. If a catfish refuse to eat then probably your water condition way off the chart, it will eventually eat after its adjusted to new environment.

I wish I could get mine to eat pellets, I've tried several types and brands and he won't touch them. It sucks having ONE FISH out of the 100+ I own that doesn't eat pellets.

Well, technicaly I don't want my fishes to eat pellet at all even I knew pellets is the way to keep my fish health up par for long run LOL. I rather stuff pellets into a raw piece of meat then feed my fish :) it's much cooler to watch them hunt down a piece of meat rather than a pellets but it's just my way to enjoy my feeding time :)
