store was closed 5 minutes before I got there. I am gonna get the little guy. I'll just get one I think, unless they do better in pairs.

no matter how big your tank is you will find yourself limited... lol. When i got my 300 i thought it was the biggest thing ever, but now i need more.....MORE!

Maybe it is an addiction... who knows... Who are our peacock bass experts here?

Personally, I would not get it. Knowing my luck the store would not want it back or SOMETHING would happen where I could not get rid of it. You want this fish, use it as your goal to get a tank of build a pond that can properly house these impressive fish for their life. You will enjoy it a lot more, be proud of your self restraint, have something to look forward to. There will be other peacock bass in your life and some day you will have what they need, till then I would just be happy with what you got. You have a lot of impressive fish, rather then want more...enjoy what you have. :) Or look at it this way, there are over 20,000 species of fish on the planet, there has got to be a few you want that you can keep in your present situation.

dont you all wish you were thos guys building thos thousand gal tanks and stuff. I waik up wet when i dream of tha oh did i say that out loud sorry

what a frustrating situation... i want a 1000 gallon tank... I promise that i'd be content.

I can relate, peacock bass rate extreamly high on my list, I have seen them in the LFS before and they were tempting, my largest tank is a 75g so it is completly out of the question. Some day I WILL have an indoor pond and I WILL get peacock bass. What I do hope to do someday is get the 1000g round fiberglass trout tanks they use in hatcherys and use that for em. The tanks are not cheap but they gotta be cheaper then a pond and at least if I move I can take them with me.
I almost bought a dovii once and kept him in a cattle water tub, of course I snapped out of it and didn't do it but yeah...I have been down your road before. When you want a fish bad enough you try to think of all the possable ways to keep it. But then I look around my house at the fish I do have and tell myself that for only keeping fish for 4 years I am doing pretty darn well and I need to just slow down and enjoy what I have. I remember when I wanted an oscar sooo bad, I thought I would be satisfied for a long time...not only did I eventually get the oscar but I got a second a year later. At that time I had only two tanks, one was a 5g...now I have 8. I just need to look back at when I got my oscar and how great it was, remember that I got what I wanted and I am lucky enough that I was able to and enjoy what I have till it's gone because some day it will be.
