There are a few huge threads floating around in the general sections about this. Its a bold move, but not without cause and motivation. We can thank all the irresponsible idiots who let their animals go when they get too big. I think we are fine though...

This is a stupid law. I mean I understand what they're worried about and all, but the consequences would be much worse. Sure, you wouldn't have the freak accidents of a 20-something-foot Reticulated python eating the neighbor's dog anymore. But then you wouldn't have kids going to zoos to see a live tiger. If the kids don't see it, they don't care. If no one cares, it goes down the drain. Say goodbye to "green". I'm sure WWF isn't going to be to happy about this.

And even better, the states don't usually want us going out and catching our own pets. Well, they better make up their damn minds. Either let the people buy what they want (within reason) or they're going to and get it themselves.

I know if they tried to take my leo or my fish, they'd be taking me too.

And of course, you know all the existing exotic pets in the U.S. will be killed. Disgusting.

True;) Dont forget also species bringed back from the brink of exctincion will be doomed again and will cause the death of hundreds of thousands of animals:(

Yeah, definitely. PETA, WSPA, the WWF, and the general public are gonna have a field day.

I don't think they are going to shut down zoos and legit institutions.

What i don't see happening is billions of animals being euthanized. This is a HUGE industry...pet stores, wholesalers, individual collections, businesses with displays. Its just too big to take on and isn't feasible...

I don't think the goverment is going knocking door to door and searching every living space.

True but histeria against reptiles will take hold and your going to live in fear. Also you guys would be the last generacion in the us to legaly have many species. Do you want to deprive your kids from experiencing things like bearded dragons, blue tongue skinks, tegus, etc. I gess not;) It would be a sad sad world without them around:(

If you guys get screwed over i get screwed over, all exotic pets in canada come from the states, especially in the winter, i mean h ell we can't do anything here in the winter with exotic pets. this sucks, i really don't understand how people get these ideas, well we got nothing better to do, i know!! lets outlaw something the people want!!! It didn't work during prohibition, it won't work now. Although i could stand to make allot of money breading basic pets hehe prices will skyrocket in the states :P
