Hello all. I have a small empty tank open I'm looking for a small aggressive fish to hate me. I've been looking at a few fish, so far I like the firemouth cichlids and may consider a male convict with a head hump. Are there any that will attack you through the glass? Any other suggestions? It will be the only fish in the tank if that helps.

I wouldn't expect glass banging from a convict or fire mouth. Maybe from a pair of convicts but I always to encourage people to not breed convicts lol
If you really want the fish to hate you, don't put it in a tank at all. Just toss it on a table in front of you and let it thrash around and glare at you til it dies.
Why do you even want to keep fish if your goal is for them to constantly hit the glass and injure themselves. If hatred is what you are seeking, you are on the right path and it doesn't require the torture of fish.
None of my fish bang the glass except when I approach too carelessly when they are guarding eggs or fry. And yes, I keep aggressive species amongst my many tanks. They know who cares for them, and they respond quite calmly in light of their aggressive natures except as noted.
I like aggressive fish and thats what I'm seeking. Glass banger is just a term is and hate is used to describe aggression. I'm sure everyone has had a glass banger and loved the fish, do you advise putting them on a table as well? When did say I constantly want my fish to bang on the tank and injure themselves or the want to torture a fish lol. I know a fish can paralyze itself if it hits the glass too hard at the right spot. You're a genius thanks for the advice. Maybe you should keep monster goldfishes that wasn't meant to be rude.
By no means to the table... been in this hobby 40+ years but quite frankly never heard the term used as such. Explanation accepted and sorry for the misunderstanding.
BTW... they can even hit the glass hard enough to kill themselves.
I haven't seen a fish kill themselves yet but I've seen a few get paralyzed. My buddy loved his flowerhorn so much he hand fed it for half a year after it got paralyzed. When I think glass banger I think aggressive fish that wants to attack you through the glass probably for territorial reasons so basically he hates you. Its going to hit its head on the glass but if someone lets the fish charge at their hand full speed then thats their mistake.
