mbuna kenyi male. my husband got me one "to keep my little blue fish company" without knowing how territorial and aggressive they become., Our lfs never had africans before. they were all juveniles and packed tight in 2 small tanks. Husband brought me "the brightest yellow" one in the store. craziest fish I've ever had.Hello all. I have a small empty tank open I'm looking for a small aggressive fish to hate me. I've been looking at a few fish, so far I like the firemouth cichlids and may consider a male convict with a head hump. Are there any that will attack you through the glass? Any other suggestions? It will be the only fish in the tank if that helps.
when they aren't kept in highly crowded groups with lots of hiding places (as recommended for mbunas) they focus on any other target, like you. After a couple of years he became very pet-like. recognizes owners/feeders vs strangers. and lately he doesn't even shave skin off my hand when I put it in his tank.
The tank will look empty & boring at first, though.
