Little kids keep Monster fish and lizards?

So what has been really getting on my nerves lately is little kids aged i guess 10-14 that parents obviously know NOTHING about animals or fish. and the kid thinks he is SOOO cool cuz he just randomly buys a argentine black and white tegu or red tail catfish... And they just impulse buy large animals! SICKENING! Kids this age obviously have no job and half of their parents probably buy EVERYTHING for them including the animal cage food etc. THEY ARE WAY TO YOUNG TO MAKE BIG DECISIONS LIKE BUYING A 4 FOOT TEGU THAT MAY LIVE 20+ YEARS!

My parents never got me crap! IMO if you can not pay 100% of EVERYTHING you need for that animal DO NOT GET IT!!! Then when the parents do not want a 4 foot tegu or a 3 foot red tail cat guess what happens!?!?
IT GETS REALEASED INTO THE WILD!

And that is of course IF the child takes care of it and it does not die within 1 year...

It is just really annoying!

IMO there should be LAWS against children under a certain age so that they can NOT PURCHASE fish or reptiles... People underestimate fish or reptiles as "disposable" pers therefore there are no strict laws on who can buy reptiles or fish (some laws on reptiles but any kid can just walk into petsmart and buy pacu!!!)

And stores like petsmart should not sell large reptiles or fish and anywhere that DOES sell large fish should PROPERLY inform you and get details or not sell the animals... Of course there will ALWAYS be SOME stores that are only in it for money but there should at least be more strict laws against minors...

DO YOU GUYS AGREE?????

Shouldn't be a law preventing kids from starting they passion early, cause I know I'm going to start my kids out early with all things animal wether it be reptile,fish, dogs, whatever they will start young

Nope lots of kids are good keepers and have parents who support them in their hobbies. Lots of adults dont take very good care of animals. How about you just let the law make all of your choices in life. This county has enough laws already. The law and people who make up a bunch of foolish stories are the reason we cant have things like channa barca and clarias bactrachus two of my favorite fish.
 
Don't agree, you're stereo typing. I was that kid who wanted animals and my parents knew nothing about them but knew i loved them. Just because a kid can't afford them doesn't mean they can't care for them. As long as their not buying poisonous snakes. I tend to find adults less responsible then children with animals.

Hey I'm 16 I make my own money and buy and support my own tanks i have a 180 gallon fish tank and several others in the 180 is in fact a red taild catfish but I have enough sense in me to get a pond that I built myself with my money for the RTC and the arowana don't think all kids are dumb and can't support the hobby I have my own money my own tanks my own everything and I am only 16 I know the commitments I make and I back them up so please don't target all kids in general because I am more mature than that projection you posted of younger people.

in England u have to be 16 to buy ANY animal, unless accompanied by an adult.
 
I have a lot of knowledge already from many people who have been in the hobby much much longer than me I am like a sponge when someone gives me knowledge Ive read countless articles and books on fish keeping and fish in general and I am very smart and reasonable with the decisions I make especially when fish keeping. So please understand you must start somewhere man.

im pretty sure the op meant that u would have to buy the fish with a guardian, like in the uk if ur below 16 a guardian must accompany u to the LFS. for every one of u and me there are many irresponsible teens

U have to have a adult with u to buy animals here also.
