Live Aquaria now sells frozen fish!

just went to live aquaria and there stock is almost retail price! plus shipping? why would anyone buy from them when you can drive to a fish store and get what you want exactly?
 
i guess it depends on what fish your lfs stock. my town is kinda small only a few good places to go for fish. they have to order 75% of the fish i want.

there is a petsmart close but i dont like getting fish from them.
 
We only have one lfs in our area that sells salt water fish. And they usually don't have a lot. The next best place is about 60-70 miles away. I'll spend just as much on gas as I will on shipping going down there.
 
Well they agreed to send us more fish which came today. We opened the box and guess what. DOA.

Liveaquaria has some explaining to do. This is ridiculous.
 
i know that some people dont have any other option on some species or because the area they live in doesnt have stores and such but this is exactly why i do not buy fish and have them shipped. id rather pick it out myself. and carry it home myself. ive had friends that work in delivery services and i know how they handle those boxs. on top of poor shipping practices at the suppliers. dont get me wrong i know there is alot of really good vendors on here that know what the hell they are doing. i just dont chance it period. id rather drive to a good store a couple hours away that can order me whatever i want. then i pay for it after i see it.
 
the best place that ive seen for quality packing and very high alive arrival rate is tangled up in cichlids. he does and excellent job making sure his fish make it. but he doesnt do saltwater. too bad.

but like bio said, id rather pick up my fish locally.
 
I wonder what's going on with them. I have only ever ordered saltwater fish from them and never had a bad experience. Maybe a new employees who don't know what they're doing? (hopefully)

that is a good question. i just recieved a coral order from the divers den. thank god its not cold outside yet because there was no heatpacks. they better not try that in another month...i dont like frozen coral.
 
Of course its better to get fish locally. Unfortunately, some of us live in areas that dont have an LFS within 2 hours drive.

Live aquaria also gives a two week gurantee on all of their fish. Hard to get that at any LFS.

I can't even sell things back to my LFS. I have to donate to him. He has a monopoly on saltwater fish in a good 60 mile radius ever since petco stopped carrying them. I don't really have a choice but to go with online purchases.
