thats what a buddy of mine did, when i was a teenager. I would ask around at a few places and see if they would let you. you may even beable to find somewhere that has a tank set up that they are tired of doing the up keep on, they may allow you to keep a large bass, if you do the maintance and up keep in the tank.

my mother would never have allowed me to keep a large tank in her house, no because it cost to much but just because she did not want it in her house.

my 2 cents

haha, im plaing on building it not buying it. i wanna build a plywood and glass tank. that is 30x36x48. i think they would be like whats going on if i brought a bunch of wood home and what building it in the garage.
tell them its a school project lol...then they cant say no ive always wanted to build a tank me and a buddy of mine are prolly gonna build one when the muskies get to big for the tanks we have now

7'x2'x2' would be a good size to keep a bass in. If I am not mistaken that is the dimensions for like a 280 gal or something like that? If you could go like 7'x3'x2' that would be even better because you could keep almost any native you want with some obvious exceptions. Good luck with it.

Chad
7x2x2 is about 210gal. i would go with a 7x3x2 (315gal) but garf says "GARF Does not recommend building a plywood tank longer than 48 inches when the height in more than 24 inches." and i dont want to have a tank that is wider than it is tall.

If it is just the tank it may be just a bit too much but really it isn't an awfully bad price for around here.... It kinda depends on what tanks go for around you.

Chad

it is only the tank, im not really sure how much tanks are around me the biggest one they sell at the stores by me are 75. speeching of 75 gallons i just got an add in the paper and there is a place selling 75gallon with stand hood and light for $185.88. i sounds like a steal i might get that. and just keep panfish like rock bass or something and they eat them when they are big.

 eat your fish!!!! are you :nilly: .... thats a little pricey my 120gallon tank was like 235$
