For the record...these guys did turn out to be LMB! They looked very much like spots at first but they are without question LMB. They are currently in my cousins 55g growout and one of them is getting absolutely huge. Probably 8 inches allready. The other 3 are much smaller, probably 5-6 inches tops. A turn of events came about that required me to let my cousin have them for awhile. I ended up buying a Kelberi peacock bass and a Wild peru Mono peacock bass, and the mono grew so fast that putting these guys in with him would have been murder. So currently I have 4 peacock bass of various species that range from 6-8 inches. The larger LMB has grown fast enough that he is now going to return to me and will join my peacock bass in my new 350g sometime in late january. Cant wait to get him back! The other 3 are going to an employee at a reputable LFS into his native setup of 400g. These guys are VERY active and getting a clear picture of them with my current digital camera is next to impossible. I will update with pictures the day he comes home!

im not sure if its just my fish but my lmb does not tolerate peacock bass at all and his growth rate to 18 in was much faster at which point the peacocks were gonners

If this does turn out to be the case...unfortunatly he will have to go :(. The $40 I have invested in him doesnt touch the thousands I have invested in these 4 Cichla. I shouldnt have a hard time finding a good home for him in the area I live in.

nice. I should get some and SMB. shouldn't be hard as i work in the hatchery system, lol.
