What are their growth rates? Will they be able to handle the heat from fish such as Central and South American cichlids? Dovii, Jags, Red Terrors, and Umbee to be exact, possibly some viejas and midas too. The pond will be around 1000 gallons, 10' diameter and 30" deep.

IME yes, i had one live with african cihlids in 80 degree water until he jumped :(

but idk about those massive fish, if they are equal size and added at hte same times, id say yes

Cool, cause I just recently got 4 of them.:nilly: Two of them are around 5", the other two are around 3"-4". Initially had them in with my jaguar and vieja grow outs in the 55 gallon. But they were harassed so much that they looked like they were gonna die, so I tossed them out into the temp pond where my red terror, giant danios, pleco, and jd live. All 4 are still alive, I see the larger one chasing the danios occassionally, though he has yet to eat one. :D I toss in worms to feed them as they aren't eating pellets yet. They also eat the bugs that end up in the water. Anything else I should be doing?

theres this fan light thing that you put over your pond at night and the bugs come and the fan hits them into the water. its pretty sweet and a good way to feed your fish for a cheap cost. sorry i forgot the site, but i googled pond filters or pumps and it popped up.

LMB are territorial like cichlids. They are more active at higher temps, and seemingly more aggressive.

:iagree:
What kind of cichluiids are they he will eat them if there smaller then him.

Srry i only read the first two sentences about growth rate etc also srry about the double post

Whoa, the biggest lmb already went from 4" to 6-7". They do grow fast. o.o

Kinda worried for my jag and the other juvenile cichlid now. :o The jag was a bit bigger than the lmb when I tossed them in.
