Yeah, nice for sure! Is it just me, or does that Severum (I think it's a sev?) look HUGE in most of those pictures?

And Congrats on the Oscars laying eggs! Do you plan to keep them?

Sweet pond. I'm wanting to do the same thing sometime when my wife and I get our house, just renting now. Ashland KY? I seriously think you are the closest person to where I live. It seems most on here from NJ or NY, few other states and other countries. I'm acrossed the river in Wheelersburg.

I definetaly think you are the closest to me.. Maybe we can get together sometime and admire each others fish

Im going to be posting pics of the filtration soon guys :D

The severum is huge. He is a solid 12-13 inches long and about as tall as he is long. I got him for free from a guy who had raised him his entire life in a 55 gallon tank. He could touch the front and back side of the aquarium... :D

I just jerked the eggs out of the pond because the two oscars that were guarding the eggs got beaten out of their nest by a single smaller albino oscar. When I got down there he had them out of their nest and was eating the eggs, so I jerked them out and stuck them in a 75 gallon I had sitting around.. There isnt any demand for oscars so I will probably just grow them large enough to become feeders for the cichla..

Here is the breakdown of Filtration on the pond...

First is two 5 gallon bucks filled with media.. One is filled with river gravel and the other is filled with lava rock. Water enters the bottom of the bucket, flows up through the bucket and through the top pipe and back into the water.. They are 500gph each..

This next is a 5 gallon bucket with the same type of setup. Lava Rock Inside. One difference is, it is driven by a 1100gph pump and I have a 200 micron filters sock on the end of it.. It catches LOTS of particles..

Now this is where most my filtration takes place. These are two 20 gallon tubs filled with lava rock... There is a 3600gph pump pumping water out of the water then it T's and goes equally into each tub. At the end of the T's I have a 200 micron filter sock on each end and then I have 100 micron filter material on top of the lava rock to make sure the water flows evenly over the lava rock and catch any particles that the 200 micron filter sock doesnt catch.. Result is sparkling water :D

(Just to give you an idea, The filter socks are cleaned at least twice a day or they over-fill and start leaking water because of being clogged.. I have to clean the filter pad below once every 4 or 5 days..)

The fish thought they were going to get fed so they flooded over to the edge of the pond for a few pics while I was down there :D

Did some inspecting around the pond today and noticed that two of my Midas had spawned and had fry swimming around. I knew they had been hanging in the rock cave a lot but didng know there were eggs in there.. Two dovii have spawned as well and I saw some fry with them as well but they are keeping theirs way back in the rocks..

Here is a few pics of the midas. If you look against the light colored rocks you can see the fry.. Pics arent thats great, but its better than nothing :D
