Lonely fish keeper

Same here, it sucks. If I met somebody who loved fish, I'd be chatting about fish with them 24/7. Nobody understands-you can't "just get" an oscar or a clown knife and put it in a 29 gal, just because it "looks pretty", or they tell me to get a marine aquarium because they think those fish are more attractive. Maybe one day...

Which is why I find it hard to relate to most people who even say they keep fish or want to keep fish. We keep fish not just as ornaments. Where most only want them for the prettiness and asthetic appeal.

I know someone who wants me to help them set up a salt tank but they're not a fishkeeper on near the same level so they want it for the beauty not because they're a true hobbiest.
 
One of my friends is into fish too with a salt and freshwater setups,but he's annoying so i just like to insult him xD. I really haven't met anyone else,plus i'm just going into 10th grade and i don't think most people would take me seriously,plus i don't have money to make myself even a monster fish keeper.Wow run on sentence.

Yeah, I don't like it when people just think of fish as ornaments. Fish should be appreciated much more, just like they are on this website.
 
I don't talk about it around some friends but most of my buddies like it, and a few love it and are jealous. and I have a friend who has a 250 too so thats cool.

They usually start out thinking I'm a nerd but then when i show them the bass feeding they love it. My bro and bro in law have both mentioned getting a tank. and one of them has already started the planning for a pond (so we're close).

Its funny that even the people that think i'm way to nerdy with the fish always want to see them when they come over. :nilly: :headbang2
 
There aren't too many people I know that keep fish and none of them are into it near as much as me. I think the local fish guy gets sick of me coming in some days, just because I like to stand around and BS a lot. My roommate has a couple tanks, but he's starting to get less enthusiastic about it...

At least my gf is cool with me having lots of tanks, plus I help her take care of our turtles which are at her place.
 
that's why these boards exist. we're all sitting in front of our tanks, so we all wouldn't of met anyways. i don't even have friends anymore..... just inlaws and tanks.
 
Chicks love my fish.

Seriously.

The monster albino sutchi shark is always a winner...maybe they feel sorry for it or something...
