Long question about Aro tank size...

A post means nothing when the person who posted doesn't have any idea what he's posting, such as post about what a fish needs when he doesn't actually own or keep that fish; tell people to go to college, get a real job, when he just barely starts college, and still living with his parents; ask people to use common sense, when he didn't even use it.
Some of us here owns big tank, thus, know what it takes to get and maintain a big tank. It's great to have a big tank, but it doesn't mean others, whose tank is smaller than yours, can't keep the same fish, which you've kept in small tank until you "graduate" to the "big tank" league! Some of you guys sound like "The Rock" in the movie "Tooth Fairy!" Just remember, if you can keep whatever fish in whatever size of tank, than someone else can and may do the same. You're not special! Even if you think you are, then share the knowledge that you think made you "special." Don't be the guy that "I can do it, but you can't!" And if you don't know or have any knowledge, either you can learn, or you can move on... The OP is looking for information, not asking for your belief...

Maybe you missed the part about the OP wanting to know the size of a tank for life. I am all for upgrading, and grow out tanks ( I am getting my 10x6 next month ) and support them. He knows the correct researched size tank, but doesn't want to give it, which is his decision. I tried to explain why the recommended tank size is what it is. Is your little man syndrome that bad you can't leave the personal things out of this thread? Its done man, all i have left to post here is response to quotes and those pictures

My friend has a 30"+ arowana in his 400 and i think its in to small of a tank.

My friends arowana is 21 years old, and theres a reason he is that old.

The arowana may not be the best looking, but he was a rescue. A rescue fish that is now 36" and 21 years old. You don't have to believe it, but the video shows he barley has room in a 400g. His other arowanas are prize fish, show quality.

This is what I called BS.... It goes from "my friend has a 30"+, 21 years old arowana" to "he was a rescue. A rescue fisht that is now 36" and 21 years old..." May I ask when did your friend rescue the arowana, and how old was it at the time your friend rescue? What size of tank was it kept when it first rescue? And where is his other arowana that are prize fish, how old are his prize fish arowana, and why is this one is not, for being a rescue and 21 years old? Shoot! If I have a fish that old, it would be my prize fish!

I don't miss a thing at all! Care to show me where the OP wants to know the size of a tank for life? Do you know what's debating? We can't just debate out of thin air. You're entitlle to your opinion, and so am I, or others. We just point out which is good, and which is useless. You've been saying you're done, in this thread and other, yet you're still around... I know the standard answer that a silver needs 240 gallons but...
I lived in Japan for about 5 years ( I am American Military ) the japanese have a different view on stocking as some of you know... I have seen many Aros (asian,silver and jars) in very good health and more than 10 years old in tanks between 75 and 100 gallons. A 100 gallon tank for the Japanese hobbiest is a HUGE tank, and they have tons of aros in them and have for years, if they are healthy and live long lives do we really need 300 gallons here????? I do not believe that everyone that has an Aro has a 300 gallon tank (room and money would dictate smaller tanks) but aros are a huge seller... I do not want to start a B*&ch fest but what size tank do you really have an aro in or what realistic size would you keep one in????

this is what i meant about no value added. I take offense to the comment "He knows the correct researched size tank, but doesn't want to give it, which is his decision" I simply asked for opinions of other people, you are a very small and bitter person who has no real experiance in anything at least that you are willing to share its all name calling and attacking if you are truly smarter than we are back up your info and present in a manner that people respect.

He rescued it within its first year of life. I don't know what the condition was. What happens to people as they get older? They begin to slouch, well basically deteriorate correct? I am sure this fish was an amazing creature and show fish for quite some time. He is almost at the end of the road and will only look worse. That's life. I think his other arowanas are 24" and 2 years old, although I am not sure. I have a video of those as well. He has over 7,000 gallons of tanks at his house, and its quite impressive. He is 76 years old now, and still kickin around getting me whole sale prices on all my fish

I don't know what more you want, if there is anything to do to convince you let me know. If your not going to believe me either way, stop trolling.

flamenco-t - Funny thing, all three of your African arowanas died, you lost 2 silvers, and a black just the other day at a young length of 24". I don't think you need to point out the obvious.

My point in this thread was to tell you to be responsible, and respectful of the fish. If anything that's value, and if your ignorant to the fact i love and respect fish, your in the wrong place buddy.

I don't have an aro at all...so i am not trying to justify anything. It is the ignorant statements that make me (and other people) think you are a child and should be banned from posting ever again. You are the reason people hate forums.You have very little experiance in this and I think was stated you still live at home is that correct? And you make mention of people need educated????? i have 3 degrees, one in aeronautical technology one in Business and a MBA in human resources......Maybe I am not an idiot

I tried presenting it in a good manner. You disrespect people who dedicate time and effort in researching these animals giving guidelines and you go against them to selfishly keep an animal for your personal benefits... Jeez look in the mirror, and trust me i know i am no where near perfect but come on really? You know the tank size, you just don't want to give it to the arowana.

I have no issue with wondering what other people keep arowanas in, but your first post in the thread is straight justification. I stated my opinion and it was attacked, you don't like it ignore it. Or I will defend it, until you quit questioning it.
