Longest you have kept an individual ray?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine was about a year or so for two motoros. They just grew too quick.

its frustrating when rays outgrow your tanks and you cannot upgrade.

Ive been thinking about skill levels for rays and for ray keeper to have that individual stingray for 8 years is just impressive to me. The level of ray husbandry, dedication
that i takes to keep rays for that long is harder than it sounds.

Yeah, I know how that goes. Sadly I have had to sell a couple rays because they simply got too big.

Eight years is a long time. I must say, Colin is one hell of a ray keeper. Not many people can say they have kept a fish that long, much less a fish as unique as a ray

Thanks guys.

I moved her from the pond to a 220 with a 11" female scobina. She was approximately 14" at the time. I had a screwy filtration setup on there and it was just not enough.

Came home one evening to find both of them curled and stiff. It was aweful.

I picked up some more histrix to try to fill the spot she left but, it is just not the same. I miss that fish.

My pair of motoros have are about seven years old.

Fish ? A lot of humans cannot take care of their own for 8 years ! Amazing but true..
5 years like Callisto is also a great achievement. Any tips for us newbs on how to keep rays
for more than half a decade?

Thanks guys.
