no offence or anything but every thing you are saying is inaccurate. a max length for a longnose is 36". i highly doubt that they will reach 4 and a half feet. i have 2 and 1 i bought last december around xmas. he was about 7" then and now he is almost 18". the other one my fiance caught at the beginning of summer at 2" is now alomost 7". when you show me a pic of a 4' captive longnose i will believe it.

no its not mine i went diving in a place in minsota and took the pic and the gar did grow to aorund 4 1/2 feet but i dont have it any more because a group of raccons killed him but he took one of the raccons with it tho
