I must have gotten confused, cos I didn't see any pics with all three gars inside, and mistook their identities. My all-time favourite gar as well, but sadly, they aren't available in my country - yet.

No confusion, you were right. The first set of photos never showed both longnoses in the same picture, giving the impression that there was only one + the florida. The second photo batch should clear that up.

yeah mines around the same length but the fatter one is more of a Florida gar and looking good nice color on them soon i will post the picture of mine lol

Great looking fish

nice looking afro too. i find them to be an intriguing fish. Looks like you have a bit of an 'ancient' fish collection going. I am a bit into that mode right now as well. everything looks great.

Thank you. My African Aro is probably my favorite fish that I own, even as gar obsessed as I am.

Yes, I'm pretty well addicted to the primitive species. My bichir collection is 2x delhezi, 1x ornate and 1x endli, but they aren't in any of the photos. Recently I've started gaining interest in stingrays, but next on my list is a tropical gar, cuban gar, golden gar (hopefully), bowfin and australian lungfish. That should complete my ancient collection. I have no interest in knifefish.

They won't all be going into that tank, of course. There is a 500 gallon 8 x 4 curing at glass cages right now. Should be shipped next week.

8 x 4 is a sweet tank. That list looks pretty good. Bowfin has always intrigued me. As close to a snakehead as we will get. I caught a big 3 footer in April down in Florida. I need to start working on a bigger tank in a handful of months myself, but it wont be anything that big. Ill look forward to updates. The longnose gars are very impressive as adults as well. I have caught some really big ones 4'+. They put up a great fight. They just look so thin as juveniles.

I know, they look so thin but they eat more than enough so I can't bring myself to worry.

I had a 3" bowfin that was eaten by my endli, so I've got John (snookn) finding me a 12" one now. He said he'll have it for me in a month, so the tank should be up and running by then. I can't really stock this 150 too much more, haha. It doesn't look bad in the pics but the bioload is huge with two pim catfish and the ray at the bottom.

No need to worry if they are eating. They are just thin as juveniles. I bet that 150 is getting packed quick especially with the cats! That big tank will be awesome though. I am sure it will seem small after a while too though :(. I am on the lookout for a 180 or 240 anytime within the next year to house my up and coming fellas but I have a little time. I thought a 125 was good size when I got it and unfortunately I got it brand new too. If only my house were a bit bigger or had a bit different floor plan

Yeah, the problem is that deals come along on a fish for the 500 and the seller isn't always willing to hold for me, so I've gotten a few ahead of time and hoped for the best in the 150. No aggression so far.

The 500g will also have a fly river turtle, a tropical gar, a bowfin and hopefully an australian lungfish. The first two I have on hold, the second two are in the works. Not nearly all my fish are leaving the 150, so the 500 shouldn't be even close to overstocked for a long time.
