I heard it is EXCELLENT!! Infact I believe that is part of the reason they put up blocks in countries.. Ruthelss people like us keep stealing their food!!! :D
 
i used to live near the river, and have eaten pacu and many catfish, but never arowanas. They must taste bad. Piranha soup, on the other hand...WOW!!!
 
pacu? Piranha soup? Thats crazy. I have eaten Sea Turtle, and Dugong (dont flame me, I did'nt know what it was) oh and Kangaroo, Crocodile, Emu, and Snake. I might ad here that I am NOT indigenous.
 
silver aro are food fish in brazil. tropical gar are important food fish in mexico. bichirs in africa. snakehead (specifically C. argus) in southeast asia and is believed to have herbal/medicinal effect. basically a lot of times native fish make up an important food source.

I thought arowanas were too bony to be a really good food fish.

I heard that it was like a status thing to eat arowanas. You know like caviar or soemthing.
