how big is he (inches?) id go with a pinkie mouse or mouse fuzzy. maybe start him on live and whats hes settle in and started eating switch over to thawed out prey. we had a lot of these at the store i worked at and we would just put the snake in a paper bag (brown lunch bags) with the food and paper clip it shut.

also, i wouldnt be handling it to much. it is wild caught. needs to get adjusted. i wouldnt hold him or mess with him til he started eating good for you. just let him be for a while. go in for cleaning and water changes. in a week do the food thing

Ok thanks. I gave him to my brother today and he is on the hunt for the baby mice. He was so excited that I told him to come and get him. I just dont have the right tank for it. He has a 75 it will be in for now.

They're great snakes. My brother has had a couple (hes the snake nut in the family), they're generally pretty sociable and hardy. Hope your brother enjoys him
