Look what I found this morning

Just noticed you also have loaches in with the Doviis. The loaches are quick and will survive and long as there is losts of decor. If you do end up with fry, eventually the loaches will eat most all of them. I had this happen with a firemouth pair in 120gallon planted tank with 14 assorted loaches.

great news mate congrats...word of advice, icame home other day to find my senegal eating my angels eggs<all ofthem,,,so beware,,angels were attacking him but he didnt care

ok i can move the sengal and the loaches. there is a root with hole in it on the right side of my tank that they all hang out in and around. if they try to get on the left side of the tank they are usually chased away. but just in case i will move them to my 29gallon tank today. thanks for the heads up

Good luck at2 they should be a good pair in the future being that they paired off so small hopefully it will be a fruitful spawn for them.

hope that the female did not eat the egg...
is that true all female fish eat their egg???

No this is not true, however cichlids it can happen with inexperienced parents or stressed parents that think by eating their eggs they are protecting them.

Edit: they will also eat unfertilized eggs too:)

yeh :iagree: it some times takes them a few tries to get it right, but dont worrie if all doesnt go well this time, im sure they will do it again s00n:)

Just keep your hands out of the tank.....
