Males colors are nothing loke the females though. Females look amazing when in breeding mode!

im going to moby dicks pet store in waterford MI. by dixie high way, also theres a good one in novi or walled lake called choice aquariums.

HRP's aren't necessarily rare, but they are cool. I had some for a while. I've seen so-called HRP's that really looked just like convicts, blah. Mine looked very blue like the ones in your pics. Not quite as aggressive as convicts, IMO. I did keep mine in a mixed Cryptoheros set-up, wary of hybridization. Surprisingly, they were quite discriminate, choosing other HRPs over septemfasciatus, cutteri, convicts, etc. But if you keep them with just one other species that they can breed with, the urge to spawn will be too strong to resist, and they will hybridize.
