It's not gonna be in the 55 till it gets bigger by this time the fish should be out and in a bigger tank.

You have the right idea man, but judging from the various 2-5 gallon tanks he isn't going to grow and will likely be stunted, I think letting him go will do it a favor in the long run. We all love animals Bro, I'm not trying to flame you.

Newly hatched turtles should be leave alone in the wild if you don't know how to take care of them. It's awesome that you found baby snappers.

+2 If you can't even care for your fish you currently have what makes you think you can handle a turtle on top of that? And the fact that your end game for this is to sell it makes the whole situation worse. Deal with what you currently have one your plate before you try to take more. I just think its morally wrong to pluck a little guy like that from a healthy situation and then to throw him into a very unhealthy one.

That's the thing. I know how to care for turtles. I had turtles before fish and I've had them for a large part of my life. I know their growths and I know how big they get. I am planning on growing him. I plucked him because he was floating and he more than likely would have just been bass bait.

I've always wanted a snapper and I finally got my hands on one. For free. In the past I've dropped hundreds on turtles and I finally got another one and for free. I will raise him until older and if worse comes to worse ill get him a 300 stock pond. Or ill set up my 3000 gallon pond I have frame for. Not sure yet. I'll see as he grows. Snappers for the most part have slow growth. Compared to other species. So he should be fine in a 10. For about 3 months or until he reaches 2.5-3" then he'll go in the 55 till I get a new home.
