Looking For A Bigger Pellet.

There's less chance of pellets swelling up insdie of them and causing problems if they're smaller. My full grown Oscars still get the medium size pellet because of that. It's probably just an unfounded worry of mine

If you pay attention to the way cichlids eat (especially O's) you'll notice that pellets are crushed at the back of the throat. That's why you see food particles coming out of the gills. They don't swallow the pellets whole... so there wouldn't be a huge amount of expanding in the stomach... if any.

Completely agree, think they have molars for crushing pellets at the back of there mouths. For the large pellet question, nutrafin predator sticks are bigger than the large hikari cichlid gold & staple pellets! I use both and my O seems to love the nutrafin ones best!!!

I assume the NLS 7.5 mm pellet has the same nutrition and ingredients as the other NLS products? I checked out the list of ingredients and the WHEAT, FISH MEAL, SOYBEAN MEAL, BLOOD PORK MEAL right in the front kinda turned me off.

kensfish.com great stuff and reasonable on price and shipping..

you wont be sorry if you try kensfish.com. they have 2 different 7.5mm pellets and even a 9mm i think. tons of members here use kens and almost zero complaints about it. yes, theres some fillers in it, but without spending an insane amount of money on omega-one or NLS or the like, its the most practical nutrition wise and $$ wise.

My Dad squeezes two massivore pellets together in between his finger and thumb and makes one big pellet. oh you have to get them wet first. His dovi loves it like that.

Yes there are a lot of fillers in many of Kens products. Check the ingredient lists and get the products with the better ingredients. Or spend a little more and get the best, Omega One. Hikari also has a lot of "fillers" as main ingredients.

Massivore is big pellets, but way overprice IMO.
