Looking for a new pet bicher

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my understanding is rehoboth was was hit by harvey and I know my LFS that always orders from them said they were closed last week and thats why they didnt get a shipment from them (or anyone) I also found out they are also the supplier of the higher end fancy plecos for the store that I keep buying lol

I got my moke for around 50. That's a great choice. I know clm08k clm08k may say different. Mine is a model citizen. But agree with magpie magpie polli would be awesome too. I love my gold dust but he hides alot. He has just started coming out more now that he is getting around 6-7".

My moke is also a model citizen unlike clm08k clm08k 's. I actually rehomed my gold dust because he was always hiding. My polli though is my favorite with my teug being my second favorite, the reason I love my polli so much is she is always out and comes to the front of the tank when I walk into the room

Lol. Hendre Hendre , twentyleagues twentyleagues , T thefredpit . My moke is definitely not the model citizen. Although this seems to be VERY uncommon. Most of the time mokes are peaceful. Mine is a jerk who's out for blood. I think it was because her prey drive got activated by all the hunting she was doing for small fish. And then it turned into a food competition, so now she's super territorial.

At OP: However, I do love Mokes. They can run pretty expensive though. Would suggest polli if you want an active poly, or gold dust or retro if you want a more mellow one.

My Moke is also very gentle but I've been told that he is unusual in that he's not frequently hiding - that can be a species trait like with the Gold Dust (Buettikoferi) or Retros. Mine is also a really attractive fish - lots of green and with a camo pattern. They aren't super cheap though, maybe if you can find a smaller one. You can't get them CB though, only WC so you probably won't find them at 3".

But my Polli recommendation stands. Mine is always active and comes to greet me. She is kind of a doof and a pig but I adore her, even though she's my most plain looking poly.

I'm not sure the prey drive is what caused yours to be a jerk I've kept breeding populations of guppies and mollies in every poly tank I have had and the only jerk I've had was my 1st ornate and he came that way the 1st time he went after another fish was within 30 seconds of being out of the bag luckily he calmed down a little

I just ordered a tegulisi and a retroponinnis. Polli and palmas will come soon, and I'm getting a 120 gallon for these guys.
