By false green terror I assume you mean gold saum?

Any Saum is a False Gt not just Gold.

there are only 2 saums, silver and gold. i am just wondering why he didn't just say saum.

all three fish (silver and gold saum and silbersaum) are referred to as green terror. i have never heard them referred to as false. I don't like this description.

1 Green Terror, 1 blue acara, tons of fry, 2 guppies(m and F), 1 ACF, 1 firebellied newt, and on wednesday or hopefully tuesday 10 rokteil severums!

I recently had my GT(gold saum) produce living fry with my female Salvini. The fry didn't live long, but it happened. I think these crosses are pretty rare but they do occasionally happen.

you obviuosly haven't read alot of threads refering the the species, because many many people know saums to be "false green terrors"

Yes all three are refered to as Green terror. And there is alot of classification that needs to be done and these species of "Aequidens rivulatus"

Just leave the topic where it lay. Getting jumbled into the debate of is this "true" or "false" is endless.

Saum- gold/silver
TGT- green terror.

being that aquarium retailers and LFS's don't classify Saums as saums rather Gt's, the name will stay around for them.

A Name is a Name leave it at that. i'm gonna call my german sheperd a Winsle poppy..who's gonna stop me?

I'm behind you 100% on letting the GT name argument lie where it will. The same debate rages on all the forums I'm a member of , and frankly there is truely no end in sight. Let us call them GTs and leave it at that.

I pm'd a mod to move this to the Hybrid section, and this is still here so... I will continue THIS thread I guess. So if this offends any purist I apologize. Please bare with me...

This video is not good enough to really see much with fry being so tiny, but here is the Parachromis managuensis (aka Jaguar) and 'Aequidens' sp. "Goldsaum" (aka False Green Terror). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_kIG3PdSWE
