So how old are those fry, I ask because mine only lasted about 24 hrs. From everything I've heard the fry from these spawns should be very short lived if they live at all. Mine fell right into that prediction. if yours live I'll be surprised. Not to be rude, they just have a lot going against them.

I pm'd a mod to move this to the Hybrid section, and this is still here so... I will continue THIS thread I guess. So if this offends any purist I apologize. Please bare with me...

This video is not good enough to really see much with fry being so tiny, but here is the Parachromis managuensis (aka Jaguar) and 'Aequidens' sp. "Goldsaum" (aka False Green Terror). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_kIG3PdSWE

wow deffinatly keep up updated on these :)

No worries here, thatcichlidguy. I am out nothing if they die, I am just curious what they will look like. Normally they wouldn't have lasted this long, I guess I am more of a purist. If nothing else they will make good treats. I can not say exactly how old they are; I thought all the eggs had turned bad and she cleaned them up. I saw her in there one day still in that area and thought... don't tell me some hatched and sure enough hiding down in a crack. They were free swimmers when I discovered them and I left them with her for a few more days. They have been in that fry tank for 3-4 days now. So to guess I would say 10 days old. I will add updates for those interested.

Man these are some slow growing fry. Largest one is now 1.75", and smallest are .75-1.0". Wonder if it's because of the crossbreeding... !?

what size tank did u breed the jag with the false green terror?

150 gallon, six foot version.

I have a question for anyone that has had Jaguar fry... did any of yours have any green coloring to the head or body?

interesting. i wonder what these guys will look like!!
