Hi - looking for something red (completely or largely) that is:

1. peaceful, active, plant-friendly and doesn't get too big
2. Likes soft, warm and slightly acidic water
3. Not a discus (can't keep up), red severum (already have 2), or parrot (....)

It will be in a 120 with some mid-sized Gymnos. Suggestions?

maybe one of these? I dont know how they are with plants or their demeanors, but I never see them referred to as glassbangers or killers...and I know the jewel doesnt get that big.

i've heard your more than likely gonna get aggression out of a jewel or red texas.

you could try and find a dominantly red colored oscar or some vieja with alot of red

How about orange? Orange form Rainbow Cichlid aka Herotilapia Multispinosa.

I personally dont have any but this user on aquabid has nice specimens, great feedback and a few members on here ( bluestarflowerfish is one I can recall) order from him.

Right now he has some great looking 4 inchers for $95, which seems to be a better price than normally. He also has some just like the pic I posted for way more than I can afford. Its a hybrid so its hard to find definite info on them, but Id imagine them to be as aggressive as carpintis or worse.
