Snakeheads are banned in USA so those are out of the question.

I wouldn't put dats in a 55, maybe 75 more likely a 90+. You can get Nandus Nandus, they are pretty good, won't eat mice but are good fish hunters, lighting fast!

I think you could house a few dats in a 55 for a while. Because dats grow slow.

i have two oscars right now but im questioning if i should bring them back or not they are so lazy! maybe my water hasnt cycled yet? its a new 55gal i put the filter from a 24gal cycled (i think) tank in it and for now everything seems ok. nitrates and nitrites are up a little (just a tiny bit) and the ammonia is less than 1.0ppm..is it cycled?

not cycled, ammonia should be 0 nitrite should be 0, nitrate should be readable.
