Just make sure you got more females than male in the pond. Make it a point of mixing 5 females to 1 male ratio.

Males are extremely territorial when it come to breeding period. Thus if you got too many males in there wouldn't it be world war 3?

no good way.... it doesnt matter what some people say their is no distinguishing visual traits between male and female

You could always snip off a piece of fin/barbel and send it for DNA testing..

Yup, the cost of doing 1 DNA sample could be equivalent to all the aros used in this particular project.

I agree with everyone else. Throw a bunch into the mix and hope for a pair(s). You have the necessary space, so getting a pair is one of the major things to worry about.
