Same fish, don't know much about them though
I will second, or third idk, the silver dollars, 5 or so would be cool they swim together constantly, are shiny and get sorta big but wouldn't outgrow your tank.

Yes, same fish, In fact, Mine both came from petsmart and they called them the spotted African leaf.
Silver dollars should be good too. I have two in mine as well. I would love to have more, but i cant find any like these.
Mine have a black spot which sometimes turns red right behind the gills, The dorsal fin is long with an elongated tip that is plack along the front spine of the dorsal. Almost like an upside down teardrop.

my only problem with the silver dollars is they're too plain IMO. i like oddball looks and so far the Leopard Ctenopoma looks like the winner, and maybe throw in a few barbs a little later on.
Update: well this has been put on the back burner for me, i found out today that i have til the end of the month to get out of my house (we rent) so i need to find a new place, get a storage unit to hold some of the non essential stuff, not my tanks of course, sooo this just took a backseat to that. i almost went out and bought three Leopard Ctenopoma today, and im glad my gut told me not to(didn't know i had to move then). weird how sometimes we almost seem to have a 6th sense

But yeah, I think you'll be happy with the ctenapoma when you get them.
Especially after they get a little bigger, their unique movements are pretty entertaining.You know how a dog tilts his head when something confuses him?
Well they tilt their whole body sideways like that, then curl up like a leaf. pretty strange LOL

but watch out, as delicate as they seem, black ghost knives are far from it. mine was a terror and some other mfker's have had some aggressive bgks

thanks, didn't know that. he seems pretty calm around my senegal bichir, and stripped rapheal cat. but i'll keep an eye out when i get the Ctenapoma's
