What a beast of a tank!

Can't wait to see it filled up, good luck with the rest of the project! :headbang2

I spent a little less than four hours rinsing off sand. The skin on my hands looks funny! I was too wet and cold to take many pictures, but I did take one of the first few pails full. (Please forgive the lack of photos!) I dumped the clean sand into the tank on top of what was already there. It seems like there must be a ton of it. I really have no idea how much there is.

Well I guess it’s about time to get some water in the tank. I live in Wilmington NC. & UNCW has a marine research facility here. They take water from one of the inlets and filter it for their research. They do quiet a good job of filtering the water. These wonderful people have installed hoses at the fence of their facility for anybody with a marine aquarium. This water is free day or night 24/7. It’s a good thing for me because I don’t want to wait till I have sufficient funds to purchase aprx. 700 gal. or more of salt water. I might have got some help hauling the water but it seem like a lot of my friends have had their phone number changed and have not given me the new one yet. I’m not one to be discouraged easily. I have a Toyota Echo and am sure I can get a lot of water into my car.
