thanks for all the info spotfin, so a normal minnow trap would work?

Yes, should work for most. A seine net would also work. We catch many fish with our net.

Walmart has cheap seines, they suck compared to the high dollar nets but they get the job done. But be sure to check your local regs, many of those fish you have listed will be ilegal to keep at a small size!!!

i just cheacked my local laws and the only fish that im after that has a size limit is a wlleye, which was pretty much wishful thinking anyway.
how ever it is illegal to use a net/trap :irked: so is there any other way to do this
i was thinking of using a tiny hook on a handline and using a piece of worm for bait. would that work?

just net anyway i do hah but im a kid i dont really care cause if your not on a big lake or on the water most likely you wont get caught hah

i commonly do use a net, but i release every thing that i catch
i have a lmb that was netted from a local pond but i didnt net it.

Blue gill are really easy to catch on almost anything, at least around here. I typically just use worm as bait and cast fairly close to shore. Sometimes I just put some slack in the line and drop the hook in and jerk back once the blue gill obviously has taken a bite. I find them mostly in ponds or lakes, and usually there are always a few that are >3". I catch most sunnies the same way.

This seems like an interesting idea/tank! Good luck with it :)

i do the same thing with bluegill and pumkinseed, its the others that i think will be more difficult
