Looking to buy canister filters for my tanks

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the tiny plastic horizontal orange cylinders that help hold down the lid are the only part cheaply made on the FX5 IMO.. i broke one the first time i ever tried to open the lid to my FX 5... the replacement part cost $20..lol

FYI The FX5 has one of the best impellers u can find in a canister filter.
Dammit man...that isn't the people I linked you to right? :(

Never seen one in action to tell you the truth...must be a new item huh?
yea it was .. but that has nothing to do with you ..

the guy seems more like a kid .. spelling errors grammar errors .. he said his on hand count was wrong and he does not have them. so i asked "so when are you going to ship these out? It is $500 and you didnt give me any idea on when/if your going to get them in and when they are going to ship. More information would be helpful."

waiting on a response from him. ( i feel like i should get something for my troubles)

but i guess i will just have to wait and see .. maybe i get them .. maybe i dont .. but this seller does not have any to sell but sure as **** will take my money.

Do you have experience with the FX5?

Yes, I used one for almost a year until the pump quit permanently, and tossed it in the garage. Probably has something to do with that "smart pump" circuit board crap. I never tore it apart, just said "F" it! I replaced it with a OC 354 bead filter that was running on another tank. Don't take it the wrong way, they work well for a while, a few years at the most. You just won't use one for 20 years like you would an Eheim. That's what I meant by being cheaply made. I have an Eheim that I've had since sometime in the early 1990s. Still works perfectly.

looks like the 1st one is going to be here monday and the next one will be here later next week.. about time .. since i ordered them over a week ago.

Don't those FX5's have a warranty for a few years?...

Fair enough. I own some FX5's however I have not used them so I cannot accurately judge their working quality. Which is why I asked. I did not mean to seem accusatory or rude. I cant fit one under my 90 :( I tried but the 405 tucks nicely under the back bracing area and barely fits :(

To the OP , I am glad you got the situation worked out. Sorry for your troubles that is the problem with internet ordering from individuals :(

:( It sucks though buying a FX5 anywhere but ebay is pretty much 330 or more... Who doesn't want to save a hundred bucks these days right ?
