Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey all,
I got a quote from Glasscages: a 120X37.5X36.5 clearview aquarium. (They are calling it hybrid glass all the way around, which is very clear and suppose to be as clear as acrylic). This is a 700 gallon aquarium!
Plus, a matching stand and canopy with a 48” stand height to allow easier access to equipment inside, and an extra door. They can predrill holes for an additional $25. Total cost shipped is $7,382, which is pretty amazing IMO. The other quotes I’ve received have been in the $13k-18k range. I was going to steer away from them bc there are some nicer options, but the price is tempting. Thoughts?

I just ordered a 96 x 30 x 25 from them 6 months ago... I had an overall good experience. I’ll post details (pro/cons) and some pics in a sec when I get a chance...

Here are some pics of the tank to give you an idea of the quality. I went with the low iron on three sides (peninsula build)... ended up just not even using the canopy because as I was saying, the stand and canopy are not considered furniture grade - thought it looked better just without the canopy. Overall, the tank quality is good and for a savings of 10k over other options, man that really does put these guys in the best bang for your buck catagory.

Nice tank and set up, but I have a question about the stand. It looks like an end piece has been ripped off. Did it come like that? I have a stand for my 125 gallon from glasscages and it looks nothing like this.

Yes - that rough end peice of trim is just stapled/finish nailed on like the front peice of trim... the trim work is not flush and very basic/not furniture grade in general quality (glasscages will tell you that - at least they did me)...
